This black wire attaches to the fusible link. The Fusible link connects to the starter solenoid with an eyelet connector, then connects to this wire with a billet connector. This wire then passes through the firewall to mate with the power top switch wiring under the dash. Used under dash to under hood connector for the Mercury Cougar. This is part of the 14401 main under dash wiring harness.*NOTE*  This connector comes with the bolt and spring.

We believe that some 1969 harnesses may have used a fusible link wiring harness in place of this one. Good Used Clock Harness for the 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang Mach 1. Wiring harness, or pigtail that goes from the back of the clock to the main under dash wiring harness, and ashtray light socket and shroud. The Mustang wiring harness for the clock generally does not include the light socket for the ashtray. The MPC indicates that the Mach 1 did receive this Cougar wiring harness. Ford part number: D1WY-15A006-A and D1WB-15A006-A.
