This armrest is correct for the 1968 Shelby / Ford Mustang, but works well as a reasonably close substitute for the 1967 - 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7. The contour is the same as found on the 1968 XR7, the 1967 XR7 had more squared off edges. The texture is not course like the XR7, but rather smooth to match the grain of vinyl on the perimeter of the XR7 door panels, sides of seats and Cougar dash pad. This is a very rare find. "Grade A" 1969 XR7 / Shelby only, crack free original lid. Grade A will exhibit minimal loss of texture and will still be pliable. Notice how the three humps stand taller and rounder than the reproduction. Limited colors on hand, please let us know which color you desire and we will try to accommodate. These barrel nuts or clips are exactly like the original ones inserted into the trunk for attaching 1967-68 "Mercury" script, and 1971-72 Mercury Cougar "Mercury" Hood scripts.
