Description

This is a reproduction steering wheel for a 1967 Mustang with Deluxe interior. It makes a nice substitution for the 1967 Mercury Cougar wheel and since the 1967 Mustang used the same steering columns (both fixed and adjustable) you are guaranteed a factory correct fit with no issues making your horn or turn signal cancellation work properly. This steering wheel is being offered without a horn center / pad. You can use your original Cougar hub, which fits perfectly without modification. If you do not have a good used center hub we can help you.

*NOTE* This unit will not fit your 1967 Tilt / Tilt Away steering column without modification to your upper cover. We strongly suggest NOT modifying your very rare and valuable column but in stead using the 1967 Thunderbird collar we offer.

1967 Cougar XR7 reproduction Deluxe Steering Wheel

I bought this wheel from WCCC a few years ago. I really like the wheel and it is made well. After being on the car for a while I wanted it to look less like a Mustang wheel and more like a Cougar wheel. I took my original rubber saddle colored spoke inserts off the cracked and deteriorated original steering wheel and installed them over the spokes. They fit perfectly. The wheel looks more at home now to me.

Nice Upgrade

Apart from the horn switch springs not having that nice solid feel of the factory wheel, it still works O.K.
Looks a million dollars and much cheaper than having you original restored.
Looks like a factory piece unlike most aftermarket sports type steering wheels.

This is an exact replica of the factory steering wheel on 1967 Mustang with Deluxe interior. It will also directly fit the 1967 Cougar without modification (except tilt-tilt away equipped Cougars, these require replacing the upper collar with the 1967 Thunderbird collar we offer).

Some people prefer the wood grain steering wheel look over the factory 67 Cougar steering wheel, and this offers an easy way to install a wood grain steering wheel to your 67 Cougar without having to modify anything.
