These plastic backing plates are found on all 71-73 Cougars with standard interior. Since most Cougars had decor or XR7 interior we have a limited supply of these and cannot guarantee we can get the color you desire, but we will try to accommodate. Right is the same as left. If you have an early 1969 your hinge was a flexible plastic strip that long ago began to fail. Often you will see generic piano hinge in its place. This is the correct pad for your 69-70 Cougar unless it is the XR7 which uses the three hump lid. Unlike some you may have seen in the past (for less $) this has the correct stitching on the front edge and is a much better fit. Comes in black only.
