These floor mats were available as part of the factory "protection package" or as a dealer accessory when these cars were new. Good used originals have gotten VERY hard to find. At present (9-20-18) they are only available in black. Keep in mind the 69-73 convertible used a narrower mat to clear the inner rockers. We have a diagram that shows you where to trim for your convertible.
The walking Cougar logo is a favorite of any Cougar fan. The Cougar became so popular that soon after the Cougar was released all Lincoln - Mercury Dealerships used the phrase "The Sign Of The Cat" in their advertising.
These new mats are made in the USA and licensed by Ford. These are nice heavy mats that will not easily slip out of place or become "wadded up" under your brake pedal. They will hold their form for many years and do more than just enhance the look of your Cougar, they will provide an extra layer of insulation providing an added barrier for heat and sound. Very nice rubber floor mats that make for an ideal gift for that Cougar lover on your list.
Here are the part numbers used for the 1974 over the counter mats sold as a front pair only. The list price in the day for these mats was $8.45 per pair

Note that some of these will come out of the package with some slight "impressions" from being pressed together - these will disappear over time as the rubber relaxes. Replaces Ford Part Number C7WY-6213056 for the front and C5ZZ-6513106 for the rear.
CONVERTIBLE OWNERS: For a perfect fit, you will need to trim a little off each side of the front mats. Your floors are narrower than the coupe floors. Check out the diagrams below to see how much to trim off (click images to view full size).
