Used hood latch for a 1970 Mercury Cougar, it will fit the 1969 too. Starting in 1969 until 1970, Mercury had three different hood latches. This 1970 version has the longest handle, and is the easiest to operate. Those early 1969 latches are a two finger operation for those of us with large hands. This scoop was made by using an original 1972 Cougar GT scoop to make the mold. 1971-73 Cougar GT's, and the J code 429CJ with ram air, all used the same scoop. Welded in hooked retainer for the rear seat back installation on any 1967-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang coupe or hard top body style. This bracket welds to the edge of the package tray. Two hooks per car, sold individually. We cut out a individual sections as shown. Make good measurements prior to removal of your old brackets. You will need to drill out the spot welds prior to installation. For sure that basic Ford part number is 62118.
