Reproduction heater box for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang equipped with air conditioning. These are getting so hard to find without a broken drain cock or rust in the metal lips, so we are happy to bring you this quality reproduction! This unit will come with all the necessary seals and clips. If you need to replace them you can get the heater core here or the blower motor here. We suggest reusing your original A/C evaporator as long as it doesn't leak (we have good used ones available). You will have to reuse your blower motor assembly. Finally, unless your originals are in good shape, you'll want to replace this grommet and the heater core end caps.
Replaces Ford part # D1ZZ-19897-B for the upper half and D1ZZ-19897-A for the lower half.
Keep in mind we have nice original FoMoCo units for less money! We have a few single halves if you need the half without the drain cock. Soon we will have every single internal and external part from this assembly listed here, in the mean time give us a ring for those obscure parts! If you can do fiberglass repair work we have many 1967-73 halves and completes starting at $50.
NOTE: We've received some helpful feedback you should be aware of. The large round foam seal that comes installed on this box, where it mates to the blower housing, is a much harder, denser foam than what was originally used, and will likely cause installation problems. Because of this, we suggest also purchasing the separate seal kit which includes a more correct soft, open-cell foam piece. We're working with the manufacturer to correct this, and will delete this text if / when that happens.
