Original NOS shroud with correct chocolate brown color and texture as what came on your Cougar the day it was made. The later shrouds sold by Ford were smooth, black and the "Barnum Fibre Co. This shroud was what Ford would have sold you in the later years up until they discontinued them in the late 1990's. It has the original Ford part number just like the original but is made of a different material and is black instead of dark brown.Ford part number C9OZ-8146-A

Great addition to that show quality FE powered early Cougar. Unlike the reproduction this has the original part number, BARNUM BROS. FIBRE CO. INC. lettering and FoMoCo insignia at the top driver side. This was one of the last units out the door when FORD discontinued them in the 1990's. This shroud was discontinued by Ford in the mid 1990's. It really is no different in appearance from our reproduction but it does weigh a hefty 2.56 pounds and the reproduction weighs 1.76 pounds. This latest of a series of 68 reproduction sheet metal parts is just what the market has been waiting for! The dimensions are EXACT down to the 1/16", black primer finish is very similar to what the later service replacement parts were from Ford. The fender weighs a few pounds more than original due to being made from slightly thicker material than OEM. This assembly is spot welded to the fender skin. Sometimes this area will be damaged in a collision but the skin will still be fine. Due to the rarity of good fenders and the costly shipping you may want to consider repairing your fender as opposed to buying another if this is all you need.

New replacement J-nut or they are sometimes called U-nuts. These clip into those square holes in the fender aprons for fastening the fenders on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. These clips are 5/8 inches from the hole center to folded edge. We also see the same clips with 27/32 inch spacing for fender mounting. Numerous other uses, we find this clip on the hidden headlight buckets on 1967-68 Cougar and XR7's.

This unit consists of a metal shield with rubber stapled to the edges mimicking the fender contours. In most cases, these used shields will need to have the stapled rubber shields replaced. A Mustang shield will not fit a Cougar because the fender has a much different contour.Ford part # C7WY-16A574-A.
