1970 Mercury Cougar

This gives the thumb release button in your T shaped shift handle its tension. If it is rusted then your button will not return back to its outer position easily. Fits 1967-73 Mercury Cougar and 1965-73 Ford Mustang. Technically this spring fits all Ford and Mercury floor shifters 1965-73. Ford part number C5ZZ-7C300-A. The MPC shows this spring to have a free length of 2-1/16 inches.

This spring is commonly missing or broken. Plated to prevent rusting and premature failure. Connects from the top of the equalizer bar to the firewall. Close Reproduction. Slightly longer and softer than our concours spring. Replaces Ford Part #: C9ZZ-7523-A.

This Steering Box Cover Gasket Reproduction fits the 67, 68, 69, and 70. Replaces Ford part #: C3DZ-3581. If your original steering box is one of the few that is still tight then you will want to open it up, clean out all the decades old solidified grease and put new grease in.
