This oddball sequential unit was only used from 2/1/1971 to 5/15/1971 and will be of no interest except for to select few. The differentiating factor is the hard plastic connectors. We can supply a reproduction of this unit but it requires that you send your old unit to to us so we can reuse the plugs. This would be for the non-competition suspension Cougars. U-Bolt length 7 inches, and threads 1-1/4 inch in length. U-Bolts include two (2) correct style attaching nuts 7/16-20 threads. This size of U-bolt seems to be the most common found on Cougars, no matter the leaf pack stack.  Ford part number C7WY-5705-A. Standard suspension U-Bolts run about 6-3/4 inches in length, see related items.

This vacuum actuated door assembly was used on several performance motors without Ram Air. When extra air was needed under heavy acceleration the vacuum actuator opened the door on the side of the air cleaner base. The actuator on this unit needs to be rebuilt so this is considered a good core only.

Vacuum tested working hot water valve for any 1969-73 Mercury Cougars or Ford Mustang equipped with factory A/C. This valve stops the flow of warm coolant in the heater hose, when the A/C is on. Has the original cast brass valve and vacuum pod. Good used axle vent nipple or tube. This vent tube screws into the top of the rear axle and is a breather / vent to equalize the pressure inside the axle tube. Fits both 8 inch and 9 inch rear axles. Very rare trim ring used in conjunction with a 15x7" steel wheel and small hub cap on the 1971 Cougar 429 CJ. Only a hand full of Cougars ever got this trim ring.
