Chromed air cleaner lid for all 1973 H code 351-2V engines. About 14.75 inches in diameter. Ford part number for the air cleaner assembly is D3ZZ-9600-A. The air cleaner lid by itself doesn't have a number. This air cleaner lid was never chromed from the factory.

This Ford engine blue painted lid, is about 16-3/4 inch in diameter. Identified by the spokes in the stamping. We get these lids with and without a center ring underneath. This was the inner air cleaner lid used on the Mercury Cougars equipped with a 428 Ram Air Cleaner or 429 Cobra Jet Ram Air Cleaner assembly. This particular mid-plate has a seemingly factory installed tab welded to the backside.  This unit was not found on a 1968 Mercury Cougar but does have the wrinkles indicative of a 68 lid.  The tab located at 12 o'clock makes it rather difficult to install the Air Cleaner to hood seal.
