    Description

These valve covers no longer come with the word "Cougar", only the walking cat.

Before these high quality reproductions were reproduced original pairs often traded hands for $400-600. This pair is better quality than the originals in every way. They will allow for roller tip rockers (unlike originals) have better quality casting characteristics and are made from better material. These were standard on every 1968 302 XR7-G and an over the counter option for any 289 302 or 351 Windsor equipped small block Cougar. Great gift idea that you cannot go wrong with!

Replaces Ford part # C8WY-6582-B, Shelby American part number S7WE-6582-B

The driver side valve cover has a pressed in tube for a 'push on' oil cap. We offer two different styles of chrome push on oil caps.

    Open emissions oil cap.

    Closed emissions oil cap.

*Note - The standard oil fill cap will not work on these valve covers.

As someone else stated, these are not tall enough to clear roller rockers; however, I found a good USA made set of valve cover spacers in black that match perfect. Only spacers I could find were 1 3/8" tall, a 1/2" would have been plenty. Using two good sets of Felpro valve cover gaskets and 2 1/4" long screws I got at the local NAPA, same style that are advertised to go with these covers, and you are in business.

    Pros:
    • Look and fit
    Cons:
    • Possibly short for some roller rockers
Taller than stock but I wish they were just a bit taller still. I installed a set of Comp Cams Ultra Gold roller rockers on my Edelbrock heads and found these covers were just a little too low, so be sure you have proper clearance with roller rockers. I may get a spacer later on and use them again but in the meantime I had to switch to a taller cover.

Otherwise a great product. Fit and finish is very very good.

These covers look the part and dress up the engine bay nicely. The only complaint is the small lip where the gasket seats. The gaskets want to move around quite a bit before they're setting on the head. Worth the hassle. Maybe a different gasket other than the rubber ones do better.

    Asked:
I am not running a pcv valve on the passenger side. Which parts do I need to add an oil cap to the passenger side?

    Answer
    WCCC Admin Answered:
The hole for the PVC valve is not the right size to accommodate any factory oil caps. We don't currently offer a rubber grommet without the hole for the pcv valve. If you could locate a rubber plug without the PCV valve hole the right size you could use that to block off the hole.
