    Description

This air cleaner assembly never came from the factory on any Cougar, but was an over the counter option available from your Ford dealer. If you have a very nice hood blanket I would think twice before using it in conjunction with this air cleaner assembly as it will leave an imprint. To avoid this problem with small block cars you can use a lower profile carburetor spacer, but on big block cars this is not an option due to the already thin design of the factory carburetor spacer. This will work with all single 4 barrel carburetors as well as all single 2 barrel carburetors. The assembly measures 21" x 10" and consists of a deluxe chrome wing nut, finned aluminum lid, filter, threaded carburetor stud, stamped steel base, and a carburetor collar.

*Tip* With this oval air cleaner you can emulate the look of our much more expensive "Walking Cat" oval air cleaner. Measure 5-7/8" from the tip of the lid and mill / grind flat an area of the ribbed center section that is about 1-3/4" long. Mask off the raised unpainted areas on the lid and paint it with black crinkle paint. Then, bolt on this "walking cat" emblem. When you're done, you will have the look of our high dollar "Walking Cat" oval air cleaner at a substantial savings.

21" deep by 10" wide by 2 1/2" tall, the spacer is 1.5" tall as well

    Pros:
    • looks great
    Cons:
    • Watch High Rise Intake manifolds
Looks great, Well made BUT I have an aftermarket intake manifold that I assume is a little higher than stock so this airfilter hits my hood towards the rear of the engine compartment.
I didn't think about that. Oh well I still have the oval one that I can drive with. This will go back on when it's parked.

    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...
