New Old Stock hood latch for a 1969 Mercury Cougar, it will fit the 1970 too. Starting in 1969 until 1970, Mercury had three different hood latches. This late 1969 version has the medium length handle. Those early 1969 latches are a two finger operation for those of us with large hands. Driver quality used left side or driver side folding door handle. This type of handle was used on the 1967 XR7 models and 1968 Cougars. This is the factory Ford remote trunk latch as used on luxury cars such as Thunderbird or Lincoln. As you can see from the photo, they are made (and install) exactly like our Cougar trunk latches, but with the addition of a release tab. These can be installed to use either a cable, vacuum, or solenoid release.

Used grade "B" rear courtesy / opera light lens for the Mercury Cougar.
