This kit is similar to the original type mounted in every drivers side door. These OEM style Riv-Nuts will be a challenge to install unless you have the special tool. This aluminum backed, tar sound deadener with adhesive is approximately 1/16 of an inch thick and works well behind door panels, at the firewall and under the headliner as a sound, heat and vapor barrier. 3 1/8" Style Steel Wheel Spare Tire Hold Down. Available in Black or Chrome. Ford Master Parts Catalog indicates that this hold down was found on some 68 and 69 Cougars with SS Wheels. The four part, die cast vinyl top trim kit requires 17 (right rear under back glass is the odd ball that requires five fasteners) of these speed nut fasteners. These do not work in conjunction with the various dealer installed aluminum vinyl top mouldings. *NOTE* The factory nuts had a drop of silicone or trim adhesive inside the bowl that acted as a seal. This procedure is advised for reinstallation.
