    Description

    * - This scoop can be used for 1969 - 1970 Cougar Eliminators and many other Ford models that had similar scoops.  This is not the correct scoop for the 1969 - 1970 Cougar Eliminators, but it is the closest scoop currently reproduced to the 1969 - 1970 Cougar Eliminator scoop.

BOSS 302, 351w, 351c, 390 and 428 Eliminator Cougars all used the same scoop whether they were equipped with Ram Air or not. The original scoop measures 21 5/8" at the widest point on the front, 25" at the widest point at the rear and 26 1/8" tall when stood on end and measured at its longest point. The scoop is 2 7/8" tall at the front middle when mounted on the hood. The correct Eliminator scoop is Ford part # C9WY-16C630-B.

Correct stud configuration, size, and weight as the original 1972 Cougar GT scoop which was used to make the mold. 1971-73 Cougar GT's, and the J code 429CJ with ram air, all used this scoop.

The dimensions are just like the original and measure 19-1/4" at the widest point on the front, 24-1/8" at the widest point at the rear, and 25-1/2" tall when stood on end and measured at its longest point. The scoop is 2-1/8" tall at the front middle when mounted on the hood.

    Paint job not included.

    Replaces Ford part # D14Y-16C630-A / D1WY-16C630-A.

    Some originals were Stamped: D1WB-16C664-AA

Nice. On a 73 cougar, i mouted it 20cm from the edge of Hood.
Than the 4 bolts at the end of scoop will hit the "tunnel" in the frame under the Hood.

I found this to be a great item. I'm using this as a non-function for now. I put this on my '67 and found that the bolt pattern was a little trying, in fact there were only two two studs that came right through (though still require slight clearance modification) the others fall under the railways in the hood and require a hole drilling bit to make clearance for a socket. I'm pretty novice and figured it out however. From the outside it seats very well to the hood and looks quite badass! Very happy with the product. I know this is very similar to the '69, '70 scoops and don't know if they have a different (friendlier) stud pattern.

    Leeroy Asked:
Could this be adapted to fit the hood of a 1967 Cougar? Looking to imitate the 1968 428 style hood instead of GTE.

Unfortunately, no. We have made some templates for other years when we get a hood in that has an original scoop, but we do not have an origianl of these, so we do not have a original example to work off of. The best option we can think of is to visit the Classic Cougar Community Forum (http://www.classiccougarcommunity.com) and see if one of the guys on there has a car he could take measurements on.
