Shaft or rod for air inlet damper door for any 1967-68 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang with factory or integral air conditioning. The damper door allows re-circulating or fresh air to enter the fiber glass A/C box. Part cleaned for photograph, normally will ship 'as removed'. Inspected for damage or weakness of the metal. Shaft or rod for the evaporator damper door on any 1967-68 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang with factory or integral air conditioning. 1967-68 shaft has a tab mounted on the lever, and is clocked differently than the 1969-73 version. Used lower shaft fixed steering column found from 1968-69 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. This is the portion that mates with the upper shaft that bolts to the steering coupler. 1968-69 lower shafts are 15-1/2 inches in overall length. They also have a lower flange with flat sides. Other Ford fixed lower shafts can be used, in most cases the sheer pins are already broken. Just slide the shafts together for the desired length. This 1967-68 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang shield, was installed at the factory to protect the heater motor from being damaged when the Big Block 390-427-428's were being dropped in. As noted in the factory assembly manuals we sell, they were supposed to be removed once the motor was in place. Attaches to the console shifter bezel on any 1967-68 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. We occasionally have these available when we get broken console bezels. This shifter dial was originally attached with heat to a pin connector. To reattach we suggest using glue. If your automatic floor shifter has play in it left to right then this is the culprit. Easy to install, (more difficult if you have a 67-68 with center console) these are made from a wear resistant plastic that is better than original. Sold as a pair as two are required per car. This group of parts mounts to the top of the AT shifter arm and rides against the thumb activated button on your T shift handle. Its function is to lift the cable that runs through the chrome shifter stem to lock and unlock the shifter out of Park. The Ford technical name for this part is 'Roller - Shift Lever Lock'.
