This dealer installed kit was designed to fit many FoMoCo products. These were most commonly mounted on the driver side rear panel. They were taller than the standard antenna so mounting them on the driver side would protect them from low lying branches and other obstructions that more often come in contact with the passenger side of the car. This three part bracket assembly attaches to the console and to the stud protruding from the back of your radio. If you do not use it, you may damage your console due to the weight of the older radios. Correct for Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. 1968-70 AM-FM radios would not utilize this part because they have a balance feature. 1967 AM-FM radios would use this part as they did not have a balance feature. This set of reproduction used knobs is for 1968 Cougar / Mustangs without factory console. The exception to the rule would be the XR7G. Cougars equipped with a console need the longer version of this knob to clear the padded console face. If you happen to have a 1969 or newer radio then the radio has longer shafts and these knobs may in fact work with a console. Not sure of the exact application for these original Ford stereo speaker wiring harnesses. We think that they may have come from the radio kits installed by Ford and Mercury dealers. Note the special speaker connector plugs. The individual right and left speaker wiring leads are about 40 inches in length from the center plug that goes to the radio or stereo.
