This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. This set of knobs is for 1968 Cougar / Mustangs without factory console. The exception to the rule would be the XR7G.
