Good reproduction of a knob that is always broken off. Made from milled aluminum rather than plastic as the originals were made. This makes it so it is not as susceptible to breaking off. Unique to Cougars with tilt columns in 1968 - 1969. Replaces Ford part number C8MY-17513-C. This part also fits the 68-69 Mustang, Lincoln, Marquis, Thunderbird and other like models with an adjustable steering column.

Perfect fit, easy to replace and will be a great upgrade over your original scratched and or pitted knob. To remove, reach behind the dash and locate the small, round spring loaded button on the top side of your headlight switch. Depress the button while firmly grasping the knob and move back and forth until it releases. Used wiper knob for any 1968 Mercury Cougar. This detachable knob with set screw is slightly larger than the ones found in 1967. Good condition, will have a small rust pit or two.

This set of reproduction used knobs is for 1968 Cougar / Mustangs without factory console. The exception to the rule would be the XR7G. Cougars equipped with a console need the longer version of this knob to clear the padded console face. If you happen to have a 1969 or newer radio then the radio has longer shafts and these knobs may in fact work with a console. You will not realize how yellowed your original is until you put it next to this new one. Correct for XR7 or standard 67-68 consoles. Note, these install much easier if you trim a small sliver off each of the four mounting tabs with a utility blade.
