Excellent reproduction of the passenger side 1967-68 Mercury Standard Cougar "Cougar" dash panel emblem. Nice reproduction with locating pins that attach to the padded dash panel on the passenger side of all 1967-68 Standard model Cougars.
The factory originally installed these emblems onto the padded dash panel, and melted over the pins to the back.
Carefully remove the padded dash (clips or screws) and break off the melted tabs on the back of the emblem. Clean pad and reinstall the new emblem with some adhesive or glue from the back.
If you don't want to remove the face pad from the car, you can also carefully remove the old emblem by prying it out with a screwdriver. See pictures below (click to enlarge).
The original plastic tabs will break off.
Use your favorite glue on the new emblem's 3 studs. We used super glue gel.
Press the new emblem in place.
Ta-da! Doesn't that look nice?
Looks better than the old, flaky emblem.
