    Description

This emblem was used on the driver side of the 1971 - 1972 Cougar hood and on the passenger side of the trunk lid in 1967 - 1968. Also used on various other Mercury products like the Comet, Cyclone, and Marquis prior to 1973. This will not fit on the fender extension of the 1967- 1968 Cougar. Fantastic quality part... In our experience, we have found that you would have to obtain several NOS emblems before you found one with chrome as nice as this. The quality on these new emblems is very consistent. The plating is very inconsistent on the original Ford emblems. We are very excited to offer these high quality, low cost emblems. Dealer inquiries welcome.

    Replaces Ford Part #: c7my-16604-a, casting # c7mb-8b357-a.

Fits many 1967 - 1968 Full size Mercury cars and 1967 - 1969 Mercury trucks.

This emblem measures 6 3/8" total width and the "M" is 2 1/8" tall. The bottom mounting studs located on the letter "M" and "Y" are located a total of 5 5/8" apart on center. Included are 4 tubular type nuts for installing on the Cougars

    Hi Don,

Recently I replaced one of my Mercury script emblems with one of your new reproductions. I was very happy with the quality. It was better than the originals! Although my other Mercury and Cougar emblems were in pretty good shape, I decided to replace them too.

    Thanks,

    Dave Faris

    • That I can only buy one
When going down the rabbit hole of having my car repainted last year I started falling victim to the "might as wells". As I watched the subtotals on my saved wishlists add up little by little I got that feeling down my stomach that tells you "maybe you are spending a bit much." So I decided to dial it back a scosche and instead of getting all the script emblems just to get the one on the fender extension since the others would be easier to change down the road. Moments after unboxing that emblem and comparing it to the dingy, albeit decent condition, take offs from my car I was back on WCCC ordering the remaining emblems to have a matching set. As luck would have it this trunk Mercury script was sold out. No matter, I could pop it on at any point. I waited 9 months for this to come back in stock. 9 months of people asking "what are those 4 holes on your trunk for?" 9 months of wanting to punch those people in the face. 9 months. When I got the back in stock notification I held my breath as a navigated to the site and bought. The day it arrived I swear to you I heard could hear angels singing. Yesterday I got my car out of storage and the very first thing I did was pop it on. My car is finally complete!

Why are you still reading this? Order this emblem.

    Asked:
What size drill bit do I use for the holes into the deck lid?

    Answer
    WCCC Admin Answered:
You just need to use a drill bit that is slightly larger than the studs. You can do this by eye or use a caliper to measure the stud.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
