Description

Amazing quality that surpasses any NOS or restored emblem you will ever see. This unique emblem was only used on the front fender extension (driver side) of the 1967 and 1968 Cougar. Replaces Ford part number C7WY-16604-A.

Here's some info on the measurements for placement:

1. From the bottom of the Y to the right edge of the deck lid - 1.28"
2. From the top of the deck lid moulding to the bottom of the Y - 0.18"
3. From the top of the deck lid moulding to the bottom of the M - 0.73"

Also, note that the leading horizontal line of the M is higher than the bottom of the letters. I placed a straight edge on the bottom of the letters and noticed a 0.055 in difference in height.

Wow

While repainting my 68 I was on the fence about buying new emblems or just giving the old ones a quick shine. Figured that it is easy enough to swap the trunk and quarter script emblems later but the one on the fender extension is much easier done before final assembly so I splurged and bought it. Just wow. I would never dream of putting the old dingy one on a freshly painted car after holding this one in my hand. I picked up a freshly chromed trunk script emblem at a swap meet years ago, even that looks like junk compared to this piece.The edges are smooth and the definition in the lettering is extremely crisp.

Only downside is now I need to buy the other 3 script emblems for my car so it all matches...
