This product is an NOS Part.
NOS items are OEM parts from Ford that have been sitting on shelves or in warehouses for years. These are often great examples of the orignal parts, but they may have scratches or other shelf wear.
However be aware that some NOS parts are "service replacement" parts. "Service replacement" parts are not exact replacements of the parts that were installed at the factory, but are what Ford considered as "good enough" and were used at Ford dealerships after the original supply of parts was exhausted.

This emblem was used on the driver side of the 1971 - 1972 Cougar hood and on the passenger side of the trunk lid in 1967 - 1968. Also used on various other Mercury products like the Comet, Cyclone, and Marquis prior to 1973. This will not fit on the fender extension of the 1967- 1968 Cougar. Fits many 1967 - 1968 Full size Mercury cars and 1967 - 1969 Mercury trucks. This emblem measures 6 3/8" total width and the "M" is 2 1/8" tall. The bottom mounting studs located on the letter "M" and "Y" are located a total of 5 5/8" apart on center.
