This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. Great addition to that show quality FE powered early Cougar. Unlike the reproduction this has the original part number, BARNUM BROS. FIBRE CO. INC. lettering and FoMoCo insignia at the top driver side. This was one of the last units out the door when FORD discontinued them in the 1990's. New replacement J-nut or they are sometimes called U-nuts. These clip into those square holes in the fender aprons for fastening the fenders on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. These clips are 5/8 inches from the hole center to folded edge. We also see the same clips with 27/32 inch spacing for fender mounting. Numerous other uses, we find this clip on the hidden headlight buckets on 1967-68 Cougar and XR7's.

Used vented fuel, or gas cap as installed on 1967-69 Mercury Cougar and 1970 cars without California emissions. Also fits 1969-70 Shelby Mustang. In 1970 California required a non-vented fuel cap. This version does have a check valve, one way vented. This is probably a service replacement fuel cap. This is the OE steel tube that goes from the Ford Holley carburetor to the Carter X fuel pump. If you find that this tube has too small of fittings for your OEM 4150 / 4160 Holley carburetor than what has happened is that someone has replaced your transfer tube and fittings with one of the after-market kits available at speed shops. This is the ONLY correct transfer tube for a Cougar equipped with a Holley from 1967 - 1970.  Ford part # C9AZ-9H576-A.
