This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. You will notice the reproduction has a larger head (The two on the right in the lower picture are repros) than both of the used versions typically found on 67-73 Cougars. When it's time to replace your old decaying foam seal, go with our reproduction weatherstrip retainer foam roll with peel off adhesive. Goes between the roof and door / window channel. These are not technically manufactured to fit the Cougar / Mustang, however these are very close to the originals and come from the manufacturer in a roll that is 4' X 1" X 1/8". One roll is more than enough to do one side, but you will need 2 rolls to do both sides. ...

We suggest using white lithium grease or petroleum jelly to ensure the seal will not stick to the shift lever. Fits 1969-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang, additionally it also fits 1971+ Maverick and Comet with floor shift automatic only. Unlike our un-restored used door glass trim and are sold in pairs only. If you are doing a concours correct restoration then these would not be for you as they have been "over restored" to a mirror like finish. The down fall of having such a mirror like finish is they get finger prints on them every time you touch them. The good part is they look HOT! Very nice touch to that resto-mod that cannot get enough bling.When sending cores, they must be in good shape or an upgrade core fee will apply....

If your power steering control valve unit is in good working condition but seems to be leaking, this seal kit may be all it takes to correct the problem. Premium reproduction rubber seal with the proper thickness of the 1967-68 seal as found on Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang except these are not molded to the extension contours.
