1968 Ford Mustang

Hot idle compensator valve assembly for many Ford engines with PCV, starting in 1964 through early 1968. Typically found on 1964-66 Ford 260-2V, and 289-2 engines with air conditioning. 1967-68 289-2V, 302-2V and some 390 engines all with air conditioning and PCV or closed emissions. The Ford assembly manual indicates that the Hot Idle Compensator Valve 'T' Assembly, was installed by removing 3/4 inches of the PCV hose, 2-1/4 inches (on center of the PCV valve). This is an original NOS hot idle compensator for Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang models with V-8 engine and factory A/C. It is installed in the middle of the hose that connects the PCV valve to the rear of the carburetor spacer. It opens when it reaches a certain temperature which makes the engine run faster when at idle and the A/C is on thereby making the engine run more efficiently. This complete four part kit is correct for any 1967-68 small block 289 or 302, and 351 Windsor Mercury Cougar or Ford anything 1967, 1968 and 1969. Used aluminum pump mounting bracket, front adjusting bracket with large hole, pivot stud, and nut.If you do not have a air conditioning you will need a spacer in place of the round spacer shown. If you have the 351 Windsor without A/C, you will need a the rectangular spacer which is sold separately.

This unit is for Mercury Cougars and Ford Mustangs, is pre-assembled, and includes the drier and all brackets.

If your cowl already leaks then this is a great way to prevent the floors from rusting. Used driver side (left hand) grade "A" tinted door glass for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang Coupe. This item will have the faint green tint and be marked SUN-X. Very good used door glass with no deep scratches (multiple faint scratches and water spots often will be present).
