    Description

As seen in our YouTube video, this is a representation of the used, rebuilt and reproduction parts that we recommend you purchase to convert to disc brakes. If you do purchase this package we will insist on speaking with you prior to shipping as you may want to substitute parts based on what year your car is, manual or automatic and what style booster you prefer. Also know that if your car already has power drum brakes we will be able to reduce the price substantially as no booster or pedal will be needed in your conversion.

Check out our video below for more info on how to convert a manual drum brake car to power discs:

The West Coast Classic cougar kit that we bought was supposed to be a complete kit. Besides missing parts that should have been in the kit to begin with, such as a less than one foot Bend line to connect the rear lines to the proportioning valve, caliper mounting bolts and Hardware, and the list goes on. One of the biggest problems are the Chinese calipers. They were so roughly cast, they trapped air in the recesses to the point of making the brakes nonfunctional even after 3 methods of bleeding the system.. They're still not where they need to be even after using a vintage method of getting the air out. Their front replacement brake line comes in one piece, not the factory style 2-piece line set, making it a pain in the ass to install and risking severe kinking in the line. But wait, that's not all. The prop valve was defective, the disk shields weren't even cleaned and they were bent, no banjo bolts and washers, and the list goes on. I do have to say that wccc did send us a replacement master cylinder and prop valve. Their support team, including Don, gave up and stopped replying to tech support questions. I had a guy from Tesla join me in the troubleshooting, and with using cameras inside the chinese calipers we found the culprit: air trapping casting recesses. Again, the brake kit is not where it needs to be, so yes, anything is better than the wccc kit at this point. I will use cpp and wilwood exclusively from now on. Mind you, if I had time I'd write up the whole ordeal of having to spend time, and wait for, the ordering of the missing parts, diagnosing and wrestling. Additionally, some of the support guys are pretty arrogant and terse when it came to ask for help. Don, however, spent a good amount of time on the phone with me and was a great guy to deal with.

I've had my 68' Cougar for years now and I've always talked about converting my non powered 4 wheel drums to powered front discs, rear drums. Well I ordered this kit and I am so glad that I did. Everything was as described and after a phone conversation with Don we made sure I would have 69 parts and not 70's, which is what I was looking for. If you've been on the fence I would say take the plunge, it was worth the investment!

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
