    Description

These two original hinges have been rebuilt with steel sleeves to retain the over-sized oil impregnated bushings. They feature hollow hinge pins which allows grease to fill the steel tube, lubricating the bushings under pressure from the inside-out. The threaded Zerk fittings are easily accessible from inside the car when the door is opened and are guaranteed to NEVER wear out or we will rebuild them for FREE! This offer has been in place for 20+ years by our rebuilder and they have never been asked to rebuild a single hinge. This method of rebuild forever eliminates door rattles and sagging doors and has much tighter tolerances than a brand new or NOS hinge. ZERO PLAY in these super duty hinges means that you will not ever be adjusting your hinges once they are correctly in place. Perhaps the best advantage to this type of rebuild is that we are willing to accept your "hogged out" hinges that are not able to be rebuilt in the conventional manner.

The hinges are pretty awesome. They come bare metal, so I sprayed them with some etching primer, primer sealer and some flat black. The grease fittings are a good idea too. However on the bottom hinge, you have to take off the grease fitting to install the hinge. And, once installed, I couldn't re-install the fitting. So I went and got a straight fitting, worked like a charm.

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
