Very hard to find 69 - 70 Shelby / 67 - 69 Cougar 4 speed shifter knob. Almost a year in development was spent to get as close as possible to original N.O.S. sample. These very rarely come up for sale used and when they do, they are expensive. Knob insert is made of metal just like original not brass. Used faux wood grain 4 speed shift knob for 1967 and 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 models. This knob is so much better than the reproduction knob that we sell. This knob has a threaded metal insert that is 1/2" - 20 NF. Some aftermarket shift levers may not have this particular thread size. This is a good used pit free part (at least in the area that shows from beneath your pad) that still has the rear clip in place. You will see this same part in Mustang catalogs for $125.00. The only difference between Mustang and Cougar is that the Cougar has holes drilled in it for the pad that lays on top of it. Not for use with the 1968 standard console.

If your automatic floor shifter has play in it left to right then this is the culprit. This group of parts mounts to the top of the AT shifter arm and rides against the thumb activated button on your T shift handle. Allen head set screw for all stock Ford automatic shifter handles on any 1967-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford including Mustang. Uses the same 3/32 inch allen wrench for attaching as the originals. Most handles take two of these set screws, one on the dummy button, and one to attach to the top of the shifter lever. The 1973 all chrome shift handle only uses one of these set screws.
