Reproduction passenger side 1967-68 Mercury Cougar "Cougar XR7" dash panel emblem with chrome XR7 highlights. Nice reproduction with locating pins that attach to the woodgrain dash panel on the passenger side of all 1967-68 XR7's (excludes the special edition XR7-G models). The classic Cougar community voiced their opinion that the original emblems with satin silver was nice, but the chromed "XR 7" lettering in chrome makes the dash 'Pop' (see comparison photo above).

The factory originally installed these emblems onto the woodgrain steel panel, and melted over the pins to the back. The rear section of that woodgrain panel had a green foam sheet stuck over the back prior to fastening to the plastic backing panel. We believe this padding was an anti-rattle measure.

A couple of ways you as a Cougar owner can attach these emblems:

    1. Complete disassembly of the dash, we would suggest cementing the pins to the back of the woodgrain panel.

    2. Carefully lift off the old emblem without marring or scratching the woodgrain and use trim adhesive sparingly to attach the new emblem to the face of the dash.

We also offer this emblem in the concours satin lettering too.
