Welded in hooked retainer for the rear seat back installation on any 1967-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang coupe or hard top body style. This bracket welds to the edge of the package tray. Two hooks per car, sold individually. We cut out a individual sections as shown. Make good measurements prior to removal of your old brackets. They are the updated design for 2019 that fits level and the chrome is excellent. All the other versions either tip up or down too far when placed on the splines. These were used on the xr7 model in 1967 and on all Cougar / Mustang models in 1968.  The casting number on the back reads C7AB-5422617-A.

For all 1968 Cougar trunks to mount the spare tire. Total length according to the MPC is 9.75 inches, with 4 inches of threads on the end. We have found that the overall length is 8 inches with 3-1/4 inches of threads. Basically the same J- bolt as found on 1967 Mercury Cougars but with the thicker, 1/2-13 threads. As we research more we will post our results here. Would love to get specs on J-bolts from those of you with low mile and very original cars.
