This taillight at first glance looks as good as our grade "A" lens but when it is held to the light you will see a few stress cracks. Used green dash turn signal indicator lens for the Mercury Cougar. This is for late 1967 through 1968 which uses the small housing. The early 1967 lens was taped to the back of the dash pad. This was the inner air cleaner lid used on the Mercury Cougars equipped with a 428 Ram Air Cleaner or 429 Cobra Jet Ram Air Cleaner assembly. Although you will often find chrome under the blue engine paint on these lids they are in fact supposed to be painted from the factory. This lid is 14-1/8 inches in diameter. This particular mid-plate has a seemingly factory installed tab welded to the backside.  This unit was not found on a 1968 Mercury Cougar but does have the wrinkles indicative of a 68 lid.  The tab located at 12 o'clock makes it rather difficult to install the Air Cleaner to hood seal.
