1970 Mercury Cougar

Reproduction manual choke cable and knob. This one closely resembles the factory manual choke as found on all 1969-70 Mercury Cougar Eliminators with the G code Boss 302 engine and the 1969-70 Ford Boss 302 Mustang. Additionally this style choke was used on all 1970 428 Cobra Jet engines. See the experts for dash mounting locations.

Carburetor choke pull off for most 2V and 4V Autolite or Motorcraft carburetors 1958-74. Diaphragm with a hook on it, to 'pull off' the choke. Ford basic part number is 9J549, part of the dashpot assembly. We do not think that it will fit Holley carburetors. Also fits AMC and Jeep that used Autolite and Motorcraft carburetors. 

Used cast iron choke stove from any 1970-73 351C-2V Ford engine. This is held on with 4 bolts, and to our knowledge no block off plate is reproduced. Casting number on the iron plate is D0AE-9A705-D, which is only for the plate. The plate and coiled tube assembly has a Ford part number of D0AZ-9C869-B. No hardware included.

Used cigar or cigarette lighter for all 1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. Starting in 1970 this lighter moved to the dash position that was vacated by the 1969 ignition switch.

Knob is exact replacement, element is a generic replacement. Socket and element are manufactured by the same company to insure fit. Exact replacement for 1967-68 dash or 1969-70 under dash lighter and lighter socket. Factory OEM style clamp for attaching the brake booster vacuum hose to the check valve. Also same clamp for securing the rubber boot to the power steering ram cylinder. Sold individually.

Band or ring style factory exhaust pipe clamp. For 2 inch outside diameter exhaust pipes. Comes with a course sheet metal type threaded hex head bolt. Ford part number C5DA-5A272-B. *Note all 1967 & 1968 Cougars had 2 inch tailpipes from the factory. Check the outside diameter of your current tailpipe for fitment. Clip or X-washer for attaching the emergency brake lever inside the rear brake drum. Fits 8 and 9 inch rear axles. Literally used on most all Ford products from 1965-73 and likely beyond. Also called a retainer for the parking brake lever pin. The long ears get squeezed with a good set of pliers for attaching. Replaces Ford number 91A-2106.

Reproduction metal rear deck / trunk lid moulding / trim clip for the Mercury Cougar. Correct plastic rocker moulding clips with Ford engineering # C9WB-6510182-A, Ford part #C9WY-6510182-A. There are five of these on each side for a total of ten per car. These same clips can be found on 1977-1979 Mercury Cougars and Thunderbirds. Most likely they were used on other FoMoCo products.
