C8TE-B-SR Correct service replacement 4490-S Carter anti backfire valve, but without the outer cover having the concours correct stampings. These units are used, not tested and one should assume they are non-functional.

Used shutoff valve for the headlight vacuum system of all 1969-70 Mercury Cougars. Also found on 1969-70 Ford and Mercury full sized cars with hidden headlights. Additionally these were also used on 1969-70 midsized Ford and Mercury such as Torino, Cyclone, also with hide away headlamps. Reproduction pair of aluminum 428CJ valve covers. Correct on 1969-1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with 428CJ engines. This is the plain finned aluminum valve cover. Sometimes called 1969 Shelby valve covers. Ford master part number C9ZZ-6582-B. Casting number can also be C9ZE-6583-B. *Note - Some 1969-70 428 Super Cobra Jet engines came with a different style of  "Snake" finned aluminum valve covers.

Finned aluminum Ford cast valve covers for any 1970-71 Ford or Mercury with 429CJ engine. Almost correct on 1971 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with N or C code 429CJ engines. D0OE-6583-A is the part number cast on both. These both have the same opening for the oil filler cap on both sides. Technically, for 1971, the passenger side cover would have a round hole for the PCV grommet and have a D1OE-6583-CA casting number.

Reproduction chromed valve covers for 289 - 302- 351W engines. These have 6 bolts to attach the valve covers. Excludes 351 Cleveland engines, they have 8 bolts for attaching.

These valve covers no longer come with the word "Cougar", only the walking cat. Before these high quality reproductions were reproduced original pairs often traded hands for $400-600. Same as our crinkle finished Mercury Cougar valve covers but with a polished finish. These are rarely in stock so do not be surprised if our system will not let you order. We get these from Scott Drake and the only reason they polish a few sets a year is when they find a set of black covers that have a defect, they send them in to be polished. So... The Wittek Company manufactured the tower clamps used on the Cougar from 1967 to 1973, the Mustang from 1964 1/2 to 1973, as well as many other Ford and Mercury cars during that period. In October or 1993, the company filed for bankruptcy. This has made the tower clamp unavailable to the classic car restorer. New Old Stock lower distributor bushing for most V-8 engines 1965 through 1968-69. Ford deemed this bushing as not needed during 1968. That is why all 351W distributors do not have one installed.
