    Description

    Please Note:

Many used items in our picture(s) have been cleaned and/or bead blasted prior to being photographed to show condition and detail. The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned. We do not retake pictures each time a used item sells. Pictures are a good indicator of what you will receive, but not all used parts age the same. On high dollar parts, email us and we can send a few pictures of the actual part available.

"Core" Items: If we use the word "Core" in the title of the product, the item has been deemed rebuildable, but has not been rebuilt.  The item you receive, in most circumstances, will be pulled from the donor car and shipped to you without being cleaned.

Used ported vacuum switch with filter. Unique piece, unknown application, definitely found on a 1968. Current offering are dated 8-67, 6-68, 5-68, 7-69, 8-69.

Original distributor vacuum advance control valve, also called a ported vacuum switch (PVS) valve, that was installed on all Ford models including Mercury Cougar, Ford Mustang, and Torino starting in 1967.

This is a used original pot metal and brass part. It has the FORD oval logo and part number C8AE-A casting. This casting number is correct for all 1968 1969 and 1970 Fords and Mercury. It was used on all engine options including 302 351C 351W 429 and 429CJ models. Because of the heavy demand placed on the cooling system by the factory air option this was mounted on the water outlet fitting. It's job was to switch the vacuum source for the distributor from the carburetor to the intake manifold when the water temperature went above normal. This would cause more advance, a faster idle and more water circulation. These are often broken or scarred by improper removal attempts. This is a rare original hard-to-find part and is a must-have item if you place your classic in Concours judged shows. Will likely show some wear, often times the soft pot metal will have some erosion present. We are not able to test these for function or accuracy. Sold as-is. Marked C8AE-A, original Ford part number C8AZ-12A091-A.

NOTE: This is similar to valves used on the 70-72 models which had D0AE-A casting.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
