This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. The only difference is that the later models had one extra plug that will not be utilized when used on a 69 - 71. Quality reproduction for all 1969-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with FMX automatic transmissions. This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. Used C-4 vibration damper for 1968 Mercury Cougars built after 1-2-1968. Transmission tail shaft must have the provision for this bracket. C4 transmissions with either 289 or 302 engines. Shown in the 1968 Chassis Assembly Manual on page 55, aka 4980 assembly. Two different styles of these are found on Cougar c4 transmissions.
