This reproduction neutral safety switch is for the early 67 Cougars with a C-4 automatic transmission. It has two small plugs as opposed to one large like the later version we also have listed. Ford part #  C4AZ-7A247-C, SW 368.

This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. The only difference is that the later models had one extra plug that will not be utilized when used on a 69 - 71. Quality reproduction for all 1969-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with FMX automatic transmissions. This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. The only difference is that the later models had one extra plug and wire that will not be utilized when used on a 1969-71. All but one plug will be utilized on the 1969-71 applications. Wiring pigtail that runs from the main 14401 under dash harness to the neutral safety switch on the 1969 Cougar.

We think that this jumper or adapter wiring lead, was used in 1967 when the Neutral safety switch changed from two separate plugs to a single square 4 combination plug. There could have been an overlap where the plug from the firewall to the 14401 main under dash harness changed to the single square 4 combination plug. We have also observed the two separate neutral safety switch plugs plugged directly into the updated square 4 plug.

This will work with your C-4 or C-6 automatic transmission. The only real difference is that this switch does not come with the FoMoCo logo or part number on it.
