This is a decent reproduction of the radio bracket for the 69 or 70. Take a look at the smaller image to see them side by side. The repro is slightly taller and has extra holes in it so it fits other applications. We recommend sticking with good originals.  Why deviate from 100% correct if you don't need to.

This is the correct, original cover for your 1969-70 Mercury Cougar and 1969-70 Ford Mustang antenna. The Ford MPC calls this part a cap, it is the stainless steel rectangular piece of trim that goes on top of your factory antenna base. This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. 1968-70 AM-FM radios would not utilize this part because they have a balance feature. 1967 AM-FM radios would use this part as they did not have a balance feature. Not sure of the exact application for these original Ford stereo speaker wiring harnesses. We think that they may have come from the radio kits installed by Ford and Mercury dealers. Note the special speaker connector plugs. The individual right and left speaker wiring leads are about 40 inches in length from the center plug that goes to the radio or stereo. We do not have any at this time . . . Very rare part in great condition. This was pulled from a very original 1970 H code XR7 with power windows, tilt column and AC. Technically not correct for 69 in that the shade of green would be darker in 1969. Why this car did not have the xr7 woodgrain delete plate we are unsure.
