These interchange left to right, they are a mirror image of one another. We recently did a side by side comparison of these so called "concours" sill plates and found very little difference when comparing them to the "economy" version... They both weigh .52 pounds, just like our NOS sill plates. They both have a high of luster, unlike the originals which featured very little "shine". We often list items like this more for documentation purposes than as an actual sale item. We have no XR7-G pull straps for sale at present, but this photo may be of help to those of you that are looking to restore or recreate a pair.

Used original 1969-70 Mercury Cougar Eliminator dash center plate with cover. Not reproduction, notice the slight shrinkage inside the chromed bezel? Only found on Eliminators. 

Will show at least a small amount of pitting. Casting number as seen on the back reads D0WB-652803-E.

Good used center with no crack, missing paint or broken mounting tabs. This was used on all 1969 Cougars with a three spoke wheel except the XR7.

Very rarely do we find one like this example that shows no sign of fading. This is for the person who is trying to achieve a very high level of preservation / restoration.

Regardless of what you have been told these emblems were never chromed. We do not have any of these in stock, probably will not get any more but we post this so as to give you a reference as to what color they should be.

This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.

Used end cap with the burl woodgrain for the deluxe door pull straps found in the Mercury Cougar XR7 or Ford Mustang. These units will show a degree of pitting, fine scratches and fading. Also, these door pull strap caps are unique to 1968 and they are not currently being reproduced. 1967 has no border and the woodgrain has a different color and look to it. Grade A door cup (escutcheon) used on both the Xr7 and Decor / Deluxe interiors with moulded door panels. Casting numbers as seen on the back can read D1WB-6522635-A or D3WB-6522635-A. The last 3 digits will read something like -AWA, AWD or similar which denotes the different colors. These resemble Mustang but are in fact unique to the Cougar. This white plastic spacer fits into the back of the right hand inner knob on cars without factory fader or balance. If your inner knob is loose and will not align, you will want to see if this part is in place. The pictures show an example of how it looks once installed. 1968-70 AM-FM radios would not utilize this part because they have a balance feature. Unlike the parts pictured, we only have pitted covers left. At present we have no grade "A" examples. C8MB-5422678-A. Brushed die-cast (with stainless steel look) cover for the chromed grab handle end part number C9MB-5422668-A. These are the smooth or plain ends, the Lincolns used a cover that had scrolling. According to the 1968 Cougar assembly manual the Ford part number is C8ZB-65610B10. This part has an adjustment to fine tune the headrest post alignment.

Contrary to what you might think at first glance, the support rods used in 1967 - 1968 Cougar headliners are not the same front to back. Each of the rods is bowed to a different curve. To replace a headliner and make it look right, you must keep the rods in the same order as they came out of the original headliner. Pair of used wire anchors for keeping the rear most headliner bow stationary. These are fragile wires, and prone to rusting. We try to keep them in inventory. 1967-68 anchor wires are 5-9/16 inches long. A DIY person can improvise these pretty easy, using lengths of regular wire. Ford part # C4OB-6252180.
