Backer boards are not perfect but very serviceable with only a couple broken clip cutouts, NO cracked pillows, The passenger side has one very small knick in the vinyl and has white overspray in places which can be removed with "Goo-Off". We suggest not worrying about removing the overspray and give the panels a fresh look by applying 2 coats of SEM Landau black flexible coating. Interior door panel grab handle or door pull. These are B grade handles. These will have damaged threaded inserts and will not be suitable for use to close your doors. These can be modified by drilling through the handle and installing a small acorn nut. These NOS sill plates always have some degree of shelf wear due to the many years they have been shuffled around. The biggest difference you will see with NOS vs. the two different levels of reproductions is the finish. The NOS parts are far less bright and less prone to showing hairline scratches. One other benefit is that NOS sill plates already have the FORD decal in place. Sold individually.

These interchange left to right, they are a mirror image of one another. We recently did a side by side comparison of these so called "concours" sill plates and found very little difference when comparing them to the "economy" version... They both weigh .52 pounds, just like our NOS sill plates. They both have a high of luster, unlike the originals which featured very little "shine". We found the screw holes to be just a tad larger on the economy version but once the screw is inserted you...

Ford never made these in stainless but what a great upgrade! The advantage we see with these is that they do not dent or scratch as easy when you release your seat belt. They also can be polished easily (unlike anodized aluminum). These weigh 1.5 pounds each, triple of what the originals weigh. Used original 1969-70 Mercury Cougar Eliminator dash center plate with cover. Not reproduction, notice the slight shrinkage inside the chromed bezel? Only found on Eliminators. 

Will show at least a small amount of pitting. Casting number as seen on the back reads D0WB-652803-E.

Good used center with no crack, missing paint or broken mounting tabs. This was used on all 1969 Cougars with a three spoke wheel except the XR7.

Regardless of what you have been told these emblems were never chromed. We do not have any of these in stock, probably will not get any more but we post this so as to give you a reference as to what color they should be.

This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.

Very rare more common version of the XR7-G steering wheel gold plated emblem. This is very different from the run of the mill used emblems we have all seen with the brass electro plating worn off. The burnished version was apparently done first: Ford part number S8WS-3849-A and this much more common gold version done second which carries a Ford / Shelby part number of S8WS-3849-B. Used end cap with the burl woodgrain for the deluxe door pull straps found in the Mercury Cougar XR7 or Ford Mustang. These units will show a degree of pitting, fine scratches and fading. Also, these door pull strap caps are unique to 1968 and they are not currently being reproduced. 1967 has no border and the woodgrain has a different color and look to it. Grade A door cup (escutcheon) used on both the Xr7 and Decor / Deluxe interiors with moulded door panels. Casting numbers as seen on the back can read D1WB-6522635-A or D3WB-6522635-A. The last 3 digits will read something like -AWA, AWD or similar which denotes the different colors. These resemble Mustang but are in fact unique to the Cougar. Correct for any 1967-73 Ford product with a tilt or fixed column. The repros are fine, but the end knob is distinctly different. Extremely difficult part to find in NOS form and very sought after. According to the 1968 Cougar assembly manual the Ford part number is C8ZB-65610B10. This part has an adjustment to fine tune the headrest post alignment.
