Why is this right rear wheel lip so costly and difficult to find these days? Consider this... The right rear was the first to go obsolete from Ford. The right rear is the one most likely to get damaged because of it being the corner that is in the "blind spot". Remember, these early Cougars did not have RH mirrors! This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. In 1967 - 1968 there were eight per wheel lip moulding, two per fender extension moulding, two per center grille moulding and five per hood lip moulding for a total of 50 screws. In 1969-1973 they were used on the wheel lips mouldings. The 1971 - 1973 hood lip mouldings used the same screw but it was 5/8" tall.
