Backer boards are not perfect but very serviceable with only a couple broken clip cutouts, NO cracked pillows, The passenger side has one very small knick in the vinyl and has white overspray in places which can be removed with "Goo-Off". We suggest not worrying about removing the overspray and give the panels a fresh look by applying 2 coats of SEM Landau black flexible coating. Pair of reproduction door pull straps for the 1969 - 1970 Mercury Cougar. Keep in mind that between 69 and 70 there were two different versions of each color. For example, 1969 had the dark green and 1970 had a lighter green...so be sure to order the correct year!

You may consider buying our grade "B" door over our grade "A" door if you are doing a high end restoration. Here is the reasoning; due to the design of the 69-70 door, silt is trapped in all of the door corners, these tight recesses always have silt collected in them and when you add moisture you get corrosion. Our grade "A" doors do not have noticeable blisters but since there is no paint or sound deadener in the depths of the corners we know there is some amount of corrosion taking place...

These weigh .50 pounds each, exactly as the originals do. Just like the originals, these are very prone to scratches and dents, even letting your seat belt fall will mark them up. These are the same left to right, convertible or coupe. These appear to be made from the same thickness of aluminum as original and weigh .44 pounds as opposed to .50 for the originals but the aluminum used is not nearly the quality of originals. You can literally mutilate these parts with your fingers as you would an aluminum can. We recommend the premium quality sills. Ford never made these in stainless but what a great upgrade! The advantage we see with these is that they do not dent or scratch as easy when you release your seat belt. Very nice reproduction, silver zinc finish like original. Correct texture and even an original type date stamped on the head. Comes complete with striker plate, shim, and screws. The only difference between the 67 Cougar and the 68 - 70 is that the 67 came with the 8-66 date stamp, the rest came with the 11-67 date stamp.
