Finally, an answer to the much needed, delicate 1968 A/C side vents! Visually these are very hard to tell apart from the originals we have listed on this site, but functionally, they are much better in that they are cast in one piece. The originals were very prone to breaking and often when you close the door on your 1968 Mustang, Cougar or Shelby the lower portion of the vent falls off. Includes all three control knobs and dealer pricing available.

This new reproduction is a spot-on replica of the 1967 passenger side AC vent! It differs from 1968 only in that 1968 used a break-away vent that was very prone to failure. Used vacuum tank or canister for the early built 1967 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with factory or integral air conditioning. According to the Ford Master Parts Catalog, the cutoff date for this A/C canister was December 1967. Later cars used the common two nipple vacuum cans that mount inside the passenger side fender below the hood hinge on the passenger side.Replaces Ford part number C7ZZ-19A566-A.

This A/C vacuum canister mounts to the passenger side fender well and controls doors inside the A/C unit. This unit includes a built in check valve. Fits 1968-1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. This air cleaner assembly never came from the factory on any Cougar, but was an over the counter option available from your Ford dealer. If you have a very nice hood blanket I would think twice before using it in conjunction with this air cleaner assembly as it will leave an imprint.
