C6ZZ-6582-H Smooth chromed valve cover without "Powered by Ford" embossed in the metal. Correct on 1967 DGS Mercury Cougar and optional on 1965-67 Ford Mustang with 289 engines. Ford master parts catalog shows a right and left version of this cover those numbers are C6ZZ-6582-H & C6ZZ-6582-J. *Note - This is a used chrome valve cover. The plating was pretty low quality back in 1966-67 and these will show rust pitting. For best results we recommend the painted version of this valve cover...

C8WY-6582-C  Cast aluminum running cat valve cover for 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7-G with X code 390-2V , S code 390-4V, or R code 428CJ engines. Original valve cover, FE running cat valve covers were not side specific. One cat will face forward and one will face backwards on your Cougar. Originally cast by Shelby American Inc #S7MS-6582.

C9ZE-6583 Cast aluminum valve cover. Correct on 1969-1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with 428CJ engines. This is the plain finned aluminum valve cover. Ford master part number C9ZZ-6582-B. Casting number can also be C9ZE-6583-B. Sometimes called 1969 Shelby valve covers. *Note - Some 1969-70 428 Super Cobra Jet engines came with a different style of  "Snake" finned aluminum valve covers.

C9ZE-6583-G Cast aluminum valve cover with. Correct on 1969-1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator and Ford Mustang with Boss 302 engine. This is the finned aluminum valve cover. Ford master part number is C9ZZ-6582-C. *Note - Most, if not all 1969 Boss engines came with a chromed steel valve cover. Research did not turn a part number for that valve cover. Originally this style of Mercury Cougar cast aluminum valve cover was only available for the FE and small block engines but due to customer demand we have these "custom" rocker covers for those of you with a 351 Cleveland, 351M, 400M, 429 or BOSS 302 equipped Cougar. The cast aluminum valve covers have a much thicker flange than stock valve covers, so the stock bolts will not work. You will need to purchase a set of longer stemmed valve cover bolts with these, as they are not...

These are quality reproductions of the aluminum valve covers used on the XR7-G (except HERTZ models) or as an optional over the counter upgrade for any FE equipped big block Cougar. Your S tube and snorkel used on 1968-70 models will have to be changed to clear the pent roof design properly. We will have the correct FE XR7-G 1968 snorkel listed here soon.
