This is the foil insert / decal found on a non XR7 Cougar. It's located just below the center rectangular dash vent / register. It measures 6" X 3/8".

Original part removed from an Eliminator parts car many years ago. The frame is the same as the 69-70 common fuel door with 2 extra holes drilled, the cat emblem is the same as what is found on a 1970 Standard / Eliminator Cougar center grille. On the units that have a faded background foil, we gently remove the emblem and replace the black foil with a reproduction. Notice this shows a picture of a Mustang not a Cougar and shows the handle on top instead of the disc. This decal did in fact find its way onto some Cougars in 1967. Rechromed Grille Center Medallion for the 1967 and 1968 Mercury Cougar. Unfortunately the polishing and plating process will take away much of the detail. Cores must be pit free or very close to. Like all of our rechromed parts, if you have exceptionally clean cores and have high standards you will want to send your cores in advance. When you do we will do what we call "core matching".
