    Description

Rechromed Grille Center Medallion for the 1967 and 1968 Mercury Cougar. Unfortunately the polishing and plating process will take away much of the detail. Cores must be pit free or very close to.

Like all of our rechromed parts, if you have exceptionally clean cores and have high standards you will want to send your cores in advance. When you do we will do what we call "core matching". If you send in parts with ZERO pits you will get back restored parts that had no pits prior to replating. If you pay the core charge and we send your parts out in advance of getting your cores, we just select a set randomly off the shelf as we assume you have average quality or no cores to return. If you must have the restored parts prior to sending your cores you should at least send us several detailed pictures of your cores prior to us sending out the restored parts.

Restored medallions do not come with black paint, the Mercury Man head emblem or the black decal background.

    Ford part # C7WB-8B344-A.

    Cons:
Although it is restored, whoever had this re chromed, they did not remove the old sticker residue in the center before doing so. You know, where the mercury man head goes. So there is a bump where label goes that is now chromed over. Also, still some areas showing bumps from original chrome starting to corrode. Also, if yours was like mine, painted on the inside half, this does not come painted black like it should. I would think for the money, the attention to detail would be slightly better. Otherwise, why even do it?

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
