This specialty screw attaches the gas pedal to the throttle linkage. Fun fact: the head looks like Phillips (and that works fine) but this is actually designed for a Pozi bit.

This is a very specialized screw that you do not want to fail or make do with an incorrect fitting or stripped screw. When removing your old screw you will most likely have to pull your pedal assembly and have a perfect fitting screw driver to remove the screw as the factory put them in very tight!

It appears that this trim may not have been used all the way through 1973. Ford probably eliminated it as a cost saving measure.
