This very rare part is unique to the 1970 - 1971 CJ and SCJ C6. There was no 390 option in 1970 - 71. Sales were down on the CJ equipped Cougars in 70-71 making this one very hard part to obtain.  We have determined that this part only fits Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. Optional trunk lamp. Includes mercury switch that mounts on inside trunk lip and wiring pigtail. Driver quality part, #631 bulbs available. Guaranteed to work, when installed there will be no visible splices. Can be added to most cars. Single wire female connector, located near the drivers side trunk hinge. Self grounds to deck lid, one power lead wire. Mercury switch turns on and off with the raising and lowering of the deck lid.

Mounts under the dash pad on the passenger side. Housing has a casting number of C9WY-15A651. Assembly comes with housing, lens, and wiring harness. Used after January 1970, Mercury changed the housing to plastic, this is that version. *Note - Not the same map light assembly with switch, as found on Eliminator or Standard models with map light option.
