This is a very rare find. "Grade A" 1969 XR7 / Shelby only, crack free original lid. Grade A will exhibit minimal loss of texture and will still be pliable. Notice how the three humps stand taller and rounder than the reproduction. Limited colors on hand, please let us know which color you desire and we will try to accommodate. Pictured pad is for reference only. The 1970 version was a soft spongy material.

Plastic filler piece that goes over the steering column and bridges the instrument cluster portion of the dash pad. Ford calls this part a "PANEL" (Instrument Panel Cluster) in the Master Parts Catalog. "A" grade used is one without cracks or chips. Put a desired color in the comments section of the online order. This is soft, straight pad with no burns, scrapes or blemishes. This is for the guy that is building a show car and is striving for perfection and wants to do nothing but freshen it up with a coat of SEM Flexible Coating. Often, we will not be able to provide this pad, and almost never will we be able to provide it in some of the more obscure colors, but please do ask prior to purchasing as to what colors we have on hand if it is important that you get the correct color.

Good used driver quality dash that has no cracks, serious warping or obvious blemishes. These used dash pads are still pliable but will need paint to look fresh, we recommend SEM flexible coating, Landau black. To check colors on hand you may want to call before you order or at least mention the desired color in the comments section of your online order. The pictures shown are not the actual pad you will receive, rather a representation of what you can expect for quality.

From the view as seen when sitting inside the car this pad might look decent but when you look at the top side it have cracks, especially at the defroster vents, small blisters and the pad will feel hard on top. This pad will not look perfect even after it has been painted with two coats of SEM vinyl paint as shown here. This pad is not intended for a restored car but is more of a "better than nothing" option. Pictures shown are samples only, not the actual pad you will receive.

Backer boards are not perfect but very serviceable with only a couple broken clip cutouts, NO cracked pillows, The passenger side has one very small knick in the vinyl and has white overspray in places which can be removed with "Goo-Off". This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.
